How to pull yourself together and start moving)))
I was sick almost all of 2023. Towards the end of the year I found myself lying in bed incredibly weak. I changed my bed linen several times a day because it was getting wet. I was very weak.

Washing the dishes became a feat for me. There was only one plus: I learned the convenience of having groceries delivered to my home.

However, the disease subsided. It was Swine Flu or Covid - they didn’t take any tests from me, they only made an assumption. I have already been sick 7 times in a year. The previous time I lay in bed for 1.5 months, and only very strict medical intervention helped me. However, I only lasted a week and fell ill again. What was scary for me was not the virus itself, but its consequences. Having several serious diseases on my shoulders, carrying the virus is a real torture for me.

At some point I realized that the virus had been defeated. It's time to recover. Conducting a training session, even the simplest one, was out of the question. I tried to start with simple exercises, but my heart began to pound terribly and I began to look like a runner finishing a marathon. And the muscles didn’t obey well.

I immediately remembered my previous experience. Start small. But how small should it be now? As much as possible! I can bend my arm, I can make a fist, I can rotate my fingers. That's where I'll start. I began to rotate my fingers, each one separately - you know, this is a rather stupid activity, if you look from the outside. However - not at all easy - try rotating each finger individually without moving the others. I have mastered this to perfection. And most importantly! I didn't break out in a sweat from these exercises. Then I began to bend my fingers individually, rotate my hands, and “nod” them. I literally began to explore how else my fingers and hands could bend and what rhythmic exercises I could come up with from this. Then I switched to my toes and feet. Raising my legs was still difficult for me; I instantly sweated and became wet.

But over time, I began to realize that if I lift my leg once, nothing will happen, I won’t get overtired, 5 times is already a problem. Then I began to lift one leg at a time at short intervals. I didn't time it - I just did it throughout the day.

I understand that this may sound stupid, but here you need to imagine the extent of my condition, where even boiling eggs to feed myself is like going on a crusade.

Why am I saying all this?

One day my friend called me. Find out how I'm doing. I shared my joy with her and said great, I can now exercise during the day! Does it make you feel that much better? – she asked incredulously. And I shared my experiments with her. A week later, she called me back.

- This is genius! – she shouted into the phone – this method is just cool! You know that I’m a real lazy person and it’s hard for me to tear my butt off the sofa, but thanks to your system, now I don’t have to tear it off the sofa!)

Now about 3 weeks have passed, and this simple beginning has turned into something more. Now she studies no longer lying on the couch. In fact, she says she got off the couch by day 3 because her body was asking for more. She began to perform more complex and serious exercises. This, by the way, is the magic of gradual physical exercise, if you move forward slowly but confidently and in small steps, your body itself asks for an increase, it seems to scream - damn it! It's so easy! I want more, I want to move more, this is so great! I'm starting to feel better!

I have used this method before. True, I was not in such a terrible state. For example, it’s time for me to start training, or I know that now I need to devote 15 minutes to sports so that my joints don’t rust, and by the evening I don’t get a terrible headache (I have serious problems with the cervical spine). But damn, I’m so lazy to do this, and I lie and watch this wonderful movie or good old YouTube. I can’t bring myself to do it, it seems beyond my strength, I’ll do it a little later (read never), or I’ll finish watching the video and then I’ll start.

At such moments I told myself – enough is enough! If you can't stand up, start doing it lying down, right now, while watching. And I started moving my arms and legs quite funny, bending them at the elbow, raising my legs, rotating my hands, in general, as much movement as possible - and I’ll say it again and warn you, it all looks pretty funny. But! It's worth it! Your body begins to wind up - like an old creaky mechanism, it slowly sways. Yes, it doesn’t always work, and you don’t instantly jump out of bed and start doing push-ups a hundred times in one set. However, this triggers a mechanism that begins to set you in motion. Blood begins to pump more actively through your vessels, you become more alert. Even if you haven’t been able to bring yourself to do more serious training, it will be beneficial. And don’t even think about laughing – every movement is beneficial. We are created to move.

Sometimes I did several of these “funny” exercises a day. Sometimes I got so carried away that I even managed to sweat without getting up from the couch.

Start small if you are too lazy to get up and start doing exercises or find it difficult to sit on an exercise bike. Start clenching your fists, rotating your hands - come up with your own exercises. At first it will seem that there is nothing to invent; your movements are extremely limited. Just try it! Think so! I once thought so too. But! To tell the truth, I couldn’t even imagine that even while lying in bed, you could do an incredibly huge amount of exercise. Even if you have a laptop on your lap and the new season of The Simpsons is on.

I moved my arms and legs from one corner of the room to the other. He drew different figures in the air. I imagined that I had a pencil or a laser pointer in my hand and pointed it from one corner of the room to another, infinity signs, crosses and zeros. We can do this at a normal pace, or we can do it very slowly. Try writing your name in the air. All these are movements. All this is your small path to more. Come up with your own exercises. And the most important thing is that it brings you to the moment when you can no longer resist and your brain screams, get up, I want more, I want more)

Returning to my story. I want to say that I already feel much better. I can walk and even walk for an hour a day.
